Dear Action Alert subscriber,
The last week has been amazing, historic, and emotional with gay and lesbian couples getting married throughout the state of California. Now we must do everything we can to ensure our right to marry is protected.
Pride Month is in full swing across California, and the celebrations are our biggest opportunities to mobilize our supporters before the vote in November. The Equality for All campaign will have a presence at many upcoming Pride Celebrations including: LA Black Pride, San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Barbara. The campaign is recruiting supporters to volunteer at the festivals and parades to get Californians to vote no on the anti-marriage ballot initiative this November.
We still need more volunteers at the following Pride festivities:
San Francisco – June 28-29
San Diego – July 19-20And be sure to check out NCLR at San Francisco Pride. Legal Director Shannon Minter and I have been invited to ride in style in the parade with San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera and San Francisco Deputy City Attorney Therese Stewart. If you’re in the area, stop by and show your support.

10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The parade will begin at Market and Beale Streets and will continue down Market Street to Civic Center. After the parade, join us at the NectArena Women’s Stage on Golden Gate Street between Van Ness and Polk. NCLR will have a booth set up all day and I will address the crowd at 2:45 p.m.
And don’t forget to wear your NCLR pride this month! Check out our shop for some great gear.
If you can’t make it to any of the Pride Celebrations, not to worry, Equality for All is hosting a series of community meetings throughout California to give people a chance to find out the latest information about the campaign and ways to get involved. The next meetings are scheduled for:
June 23 – 6:00 p.m. San Diego LGBT Center
3909 Centre St, San Diego
June 23 – 7:00 p.m. Billy DeFrank LGBT Community Center

July 3 – 7:00 p.m. San Francisco LGBT Center
1800 Market St, San FranciscoMore meetings are being added so be sure to check back with Equality for All regularly.
This is a huge fight for which we will need thousands of volunteers. To sign up to help, please visit www.equalityforall.com/volunteer.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment.
In solidarity,
Kate Kendell
Excutive Director
In that part of the day between sleep and awake that is morning, I completely misread this. I thought that you would be riding in style, addressing the crowd, celesfam! Your meteoric morph from aubergine to English pea complete.
Elbow, elbow, wrist-wrist-wrist!
Now to go look up “aubergine.”
And tell me now: “celesfam” is a custom neologism? Celebrity – lesbian – family? Google and Wikipedia do not help me, and I am exposed for the vocab pretender that I really am.
All comments in American from now on: whatever did happen to the eggplant story?
I’m quite taken by ‘celesbian’ (celebrity lesbian) and ‘lesfam’ and joined them together.
