Fantastic shot as always. Was that early in the morning or late in the evening, judging from the dramatic shadows?
Thank you so much, BeethovenLives. Sorry for the slow reply here. It was late afternoon. We’re at latitude 37.872, for what it’s worth, and the photograph was taken I think in August. Longer shadows than I’d expect for that time of year, but it was late afternoon.
What really gives me the heebie-jeebies is the heat on long-shadowed days around here over the past year or two. November, for instance, when it’s not supposed to be oven-hot in the Bay Area, and still there are the long winterish shadows. Global warming-creepy. 🙁
Or perhaps it’s just harmless minute shifts in orbit. I try to just go with the flow, and try not to think about how summer in England is getting later and later in the year, and shorter and shorter…
